Tasked with proving the innocence, or at least insanity, of Arthur Blackwood. The gang went to the house in the middle of the woods, finding it devoid of clues. Then they descended to the cellar, onto a floor of shells, and began investigating. They found many clues throughout as happen in the scenario as published. However things went off the rails quickly. Kona was determined to break through the floor by jumping, and in the process was nearly shot by Detective Speltzer for disturbing evidence. While Nate and Chance did some good investigating. Eventually something paranormal started to manifest, knocking things off the shelves. Chance, playing a write interested in the occult, whipped out ye old tarot cards to communicate with it. It told how it made a deal with an ancient Blackwood wizard, but was then betrayed and trapped in this basement. It revealed a binding circle and asked to be freed the Blackwood descendant, with the others aware to varying degrees. Mrs. Blackwood and the creature where both untrusting of eachother, planning betrayal. So when the beast figured out its deception would not work it lashed out. Mrs. Blackwood was grabbed by the hideous beast on the ceiling as her companions threw lanterns onto it. It squealed in pain, but managed to wrap its tentacles around Mrs. Blackwood, and rip her limb for limb after a taunt. Then finally, thoroughly charred, Detective Speltzer emptied his gun into the beast. Apearing to slay it as it fell to the floor, and then disintegrated away.
